Why should I delegate? I already have time to do what needs to be done.

Some folks delegate because they’re swamped or need some guidance. If you’re content with your task load and your sanity is intact as well, carry on. If you’d prefer to hand-off the work so that you can focus on other things—I’m here for you.

Where does your experience come from?

I have 15 years of admin and customer service experience—six of those have been in the virtual realm. I’ve tackled all kinds of roles such as: Administrative Assistant, Bookkeeper, Recordkeeper, Implementer, Project Manager, Client Advocate, Trainer, Talent Manager, Quality Assurance Verifier, and Director of Operations.

How will I know about the progress of the work you’re doing?

I use an online project management tool you’ll have access to, so you’re informed as little or as much as you want to be.

How about time tracking and communication?

Time Tracking: We’ll figure out your needs and then I’ll work up to that amount each week, tracked in 15-minute chunks. Communication: Walkie-talkies (j/k) We’ll communicate through email, phone, and scheduled reporting calls with a clear agenda to keep us on track.

What’s this gonna cost me?

I bill at $60 per hour. You’ll receive an invoice, and you can pay via check or electronically with Venmo. I don’t take credit card payments because I’d prefer not to pass on the processing fees. (this saves you money!) Hourly billing makes it a win-win: you pay for what you get, I get paid for my work, and it keeps the balance in our relationship. I’ve set this rate after researching industry standards, considering my six years of VA contracting experience. Typically, overseas VAs charge $3 – $15/hour, newbies go for $16 – $50/hour, experienced ones range from $51 – $100/hour, and specialists charge $100+. Remember, hiring an amateur can cost you more in the long run.

Why choose a VA if they cost more per hour than an onsite assistant?

It’s cost-effective in the long run. With independent contractors, there’s no employee overhead, saving you money. Comparing hourly wages doesn’t consider the added expenses of office equipment, benefits, and the time you invest in hiring and managing an onsite assistant. When you tally up these costs, the onsite option can be pricier.

And as for the big question – can it really work if I’m not onsite?

Absolutely! While there are some limitations to virtual work, you’ll be surprised by how much can be handled effectively from afar.
