As the Lady of Grey House, I wholeheartedly embrace the philosophy of “A place for everything and everything in its place”.
I’m a fan of organizing systems and managing projects with a meticulous touch. You could say I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to all things system implementation and project management. I tend to lean more analytical and processed based than your average admin. When the team wants to streamline a process or find a more efficient way to do something—I’m their go-to-gal. Checklists and spreadsheets make my day.
In my downtime, I’m a huge genealogy enthusiast, especially in the fall when I suffer from what I humorously refer to as SAD (seasonal ancestry disorder) and dig deeper into the rabbit hole.
Robert Fulghum’s uncommon thoughts on common things have been a source of inspiration and wisdom for me, guiding my love for simple yet profound life lessons. (All he ever really needed to know, he learned in kindergarten.) He builds a whole story out of something that most may find insignificant. I find it enlightening. I try to read nearly everything he’s ever written. Repeatedly. Go find him.
I could say the same about Taylor Swift’s storytelling through music. She really has a knack for being honest and enchanting all at the same time. Say what you will but she’s brilliant. Tom Petty is my go-to when I need a classic. And, Ed Sheeran is … well, simply magical. I’ll always recommend “Everybody’s Free” by Baz Luhrmann. It’s some pretty solid advice if I’ve ever heard it. “The race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.” … something to remember when you’re feeling overwhelmed.
In essence, I hope that I leave a sparkle and a trail of efficiency wherever I go.
Sincerely,
The Lady of Grey House
